One thing you have to say about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt: these two sure are devious! On the one hand, they are on the verge of breaking up. On the other hand, there they both are partying at the SuperBowl with son Maddox and looking every bit as happy as the day they first met.

For those of us who have been following the rumors about Pitt and Jolie in the tabloids for any length of time, these public displays of affection are getting hard to ignore. If these two really are close to a breakup, then how can they continue to look so damn happy when the cameras are on?

One possible reason: they are actors and they don’t call it acting for nothing!

Despite actually hating each other’s guts, Brangelina can grit their teeth and soldier on for the good of their public image. Hell, some of the best acting these two have ever done is for the sake of their fans, who seem to believe that everything is still hunky dory in Brangelina-land.

In order to believe that, you have to ignore quite a few incidents reported in tabloids, going all the way back to Nanny-gate.

First, you have to believe that Brad Pitt has not hooked back up with his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. He left Aniston for Jolie. Has Brad gotten bored with Jolie and ran back to the embrace of his former lover? Many pundits believe this is the case.

Second, after a brief rash of births and adoptions, it looks like Brad and Angie are no longer interested in increasing the size of their family. Surely six kids was more than either of them could handle. If they really are heading to Splits-ville it would make sense to stop adding children.

Lastly you need to believe that Angelina Jolie isn’t looking for an ‘open relationship’ and hasn’t already began to pursue Johnny Depp. Depp is her co-star in a new movie, so it’s not out of the question that she might treat him like the prize she once thought Pitt was.

Unfortunately for the tabloids, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie continue to defy the odds and stay together. After every one of their crafted public outings, you have to wonder if the tabloids have it wrong and if Jolie and Pitt are just wonderful family people living nearly perfect lives.
