Oprah’s 55th Birthday Bash In Barcelona
Oprah’s 55th birthday celebration in Barcelona is one to remember – for her AND her 1700 employees! Yes, the Queen of giving paid for all of her employees to join her on vacation. How amazing is that. That is the kind of thing people say they will do when they are famous, but do they ever really?
Oprah was spotted touring the famous Catholic church Sagrada Familia (Temple of the Holy Family) in Barcelona today along with BFF Gayle King. You can check out pictures here. Yesterday was Oprah’s actual 55th birthday and she celebrated by taking over a popular tourist attraction and throwing a party for all 1700 of her employees and their families. The fiesta at the Poble Espanyol, was complete with concerts and performances by flamenco dancers.
For Oprah’s 55th birthday in Barcelona, she and her guests will spend three days in the northeastern Spanish city before hoping on a 10-day Mediterranean cruise, where they will travel from Barcelona on the Norwegian Gem liner to Italy, Turkey, Greece, and Malta. Oprah is footing the bill for everything from transportation to food and “special activities” at a cost of about $5400 per person, which totals a hefty $9.2 million!!!
