If you ask any true hip-hop fan about rapper Q-Tip’s 2008 album titled The Renaissance a few words may come to mind, including brilliant, epic and innovative. On the album Q-Tip takes a fresh approach to flowing and crooning amongst R&B compositions. The song that surprises many is Life Is Better in which the rapper collaborates with jazzy songstress known as Norah Jones.
The Renaissance is the second studio album by American hip hopper Q-Tip. The album was released November 4, 2008 on Universal Motown Records in the United States. And now even a year later, fans are raving about one of the greatest rap albums in history.
In a newly released video for the third single off his Renaissance album, Q-Tip teams up with Grammy award winning Norah Jones to create a music video for the single Life Is Better. The track is described as a funk-jazz track and pays respect to everyone from Kool Herc to Jay-Z. And, in fact, Norah Jones does her own solo thing for the first 90 seconds of the track.
