Tim Urban has seen “Better Days”. It was the end of the road for another American Idol tonight. But what a memorable night to get the boot featuring “Idol Gives Back”!
As a biography, Timothy Urban is from Duncanville, Texas and is 20 years old. He is an American Idol contestant for Season 9. Urban auditioned in Dallas, Texas. He received a golden ticket to Hollywood. He was given the opportunity to compete on the famous talen show when a Top 24 contestant, Chris Golightly, was ineligible to continue in the competition. At the age of 13, Tim began playing the guitar and singing Christian music. He has nine brothers and sisters was homeschooled by his mother. The following songs he sang: Apologize (One Republic), Come On, Get Higher (Matt Nathanson), Hallelujah (Jeff Buckley), Under My Thumb (The Rolling Stones), Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Queen), Sweet Love (Anita Baker), All My Loving (The Beatles), Can’t Help Falling In Love (Elvis Presley), and Better Days (Goo Goo Dolls).
As we know, this week is was “Inspirational Week” featuring Alicia Keys as the contestants mentor. Urban chose to sing a song by the Goo Goo Dolls called “Better Days”. The panel of judges all agreed that the song choice was just okay. Randy said it was “Ok karaoke”. That about sums it up!
To kick off the results, contestants Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox were sent to safety. Meanwhile, Casey James and Aaron Kelly were named as two of the bottom three. Soon after, Urban joined them. So that means that the judges decision to save Big Mike was a wise decision! Imagine that!
However, it wasn’t just elimination night this evening. It was the annual “Idol Gives Back”. Various artists like: Keys, Elton John, Carrie Underwood, Mary J. Blige, Black Eyed Peas, and David Cook. “All net proceeds from downloads of the performances from the show sold on iTunes will be donated to Idol Gives Back” which raises awareness and funds to benefit various U.S. and international charities.”
American Idol is now down to America’s Top Six. You will not want to miss next week as the competition continues to get tougher. Every performance counts!
